Seats, Seat Belts, and Safe Riding Positions in Cybercab

How to adjust Cybercab’s seats, fasten and release seat belts correctly, and maintain a safe seated position throughout your ride.

Cybercab is designed with passenger safety at the centre of every decision, and that starts the moment you sit down. The two seats are fully adjustable, the seat belts include a motor that automatically removes slack when your ride begins, and the system monitors belt usage throughout your trip. Take a few seconds before you tap Start Ride to get your seat position right and your belt properly fastened — it makes a real difference in an emergency.

Adjusting Your Seat #

Cybercab has two seats. Head supports are integrated into the seat backs and cannot be adjusted separately.

Before making any adjustment, ensure no bags, clothing, or limbs are near the seat mechanism to avoid injury or damage.

Touch the seat icon on the bottom bar of the touchscreen to open the seat controls.

Each seat’s backrest is adjustable independently. Use the recline arrows to find your preferred angle. Keep the backrest reclined less than 35 degrees from vertical at all times during the ride.

Both seats move forward and backward together. Use the forward/back arrows to set the position that suits all passengers.

Seat adjustments are also available in the Robotaxi app. Your preferences are saved in your passenger profile and carry over to future rides.

Buckling Your Seat Belt #

All occupants must be buckled before the ride can begin. Cybercab monitors seat belt usage throughout the trip and may pull over or cancel the ride if improper usage is detected. Remaining buckled for the entire trip is not optional — it is a safety requirement.

How to Fasten Your Seat Belt #

Grasp the latch plate and pull the belt out slowly to avoid twisting. Ensure the belt lies completely flat with no twists along its length.

Position the lap section across your hips, not across your stomach. The belt should sit as low as possible on your pelvis.

Bring the belt diagonally across your chest and collarbone. It should not rest against your neck or be tucked behind your arm or back.

Insert the latch plate firmly into the buckle until you hear and feel a definitive click.

Once the ride starts, the seat belt’s integrated motor automatically tightens and removes any remaining slack. Do not force the belt tighter yourself.

The seat belt’s integrated motor also tightens automatically during hard acceleration, braking, cornering, or a collision event — this is normal and expected behaviour.

How to Release Your Seat Belt #

Place one hand on the belt close to the buckle to slow the retraction and prevent the belt from snapping back.

Press the red release button on the buckle. The latch plate releases and the belt retracts smoothly.

If your seat belt does not operate correctly — if it won’t retract, won’t latch, or feels loose — do not begin your ride. Report the malfunction in the Robotaxi app and request a new ride. An improperly functioning seat belt significantly increases your risk of injury.

Pregnant Passengers #

Cybercab’s seat belts are compatible with pregnancy when worn correctly. Follow these guidelines every ride: position the lap section as low as possible across your hips, well below the abdominal area — never across your waist or stomach; route the shoulder section between your breasts and to the side of your abdomen — not directly over the abdomen; and never place either section of the belt over the abdominal area.

If you have specific concerns about travelling during pregnancy, consult your doctor before booking a ride. Your doctor can advise on the safest positioning for your stage of pregnancy.

Children and Booster Seats #

Minors under 13 are not permitted in Cybercab at this time. This restriction is in place regardless of whether a parent or guardian is present.

Cybercab does not include a LATCH or ISOFIX anchor system. If you are travelling with a child aged 13 or older who requires a booster seat, the seat must use the seat-belt-retained method in accordance with the booster seat manufacturer’s instructions.

Correct Seating Position #

Maintaining a safe seated position for the entire trip gives the seat belt and airbags the best chance of protecting you in an emergency.

Incorrect seating positions — such as resting your legs on a surface in front of you, leaning far forward, or slouching sideways — can cause the seat belt and airbags to perform incorrectly in a collision, significantly increasing your risk of injury.

Follow these guidelines throughout your ride: sit upright with your back against the seat back; keep the seat back reclined less than 35 degrees from vertical; ensure the lap belt sits across your hips, not your stomach; keep your seat belt snug and fastened for the entire journey; place no objects between you and your seat belt — do not tuck the belt behind you or under your arm; and keep your feet flat on the floor directly in front of your seat.
