Starting Your Ride: Boarding, Buckling Up, and Departing

Once you are seated inside your Cybercab, getting the trip underway is quick and simple. The vehicle handles the driving — your only job is to get comfortable, buckle up, and tap Start Ride when you are ready. This page walks you through each step between boarding and departure.

Choose a Seat #

You can use either seat in Cybercab. Both seats are available to passengers, and the head supports are integrated into the seat backs. Before settling in, make sure the area around your seat is clear of bags and personal items.

Buckle Your Seat Belt #

All occupants must be buckled before the ride can begin. As soon as you fasten your seat belt, the door closes automatically. If you need to open or close a door manually, touch the associated Open or Close Door icon in the bottom left and right corners of the touchscreen.

Remain seated with your seat belt fastened for the duration of the trip — even when Cybercab is stopped. Cybercab may pull over or cancel the ride if improper seat belt usage is detected.

Make Sure the Doors and Trunk Are Closed #

Before departing, confirm that both doors and the rear trunk are fully closed. If anything is still open, the vehicle will not begin the trip.

Tap Start Ride #

When every passenger is seated correctly and buckled up, and all doors and the trunk are fully closed, touch the Start Ride icon on the touchscreen to begin your trip.

What Happens After You Start #

Once the trip begins, the touchscreen shows your trip progress and estimated time of arrival. The App Launcher appears on the touchscreen with music, arcade, and media apps, and you can adjust the climate or seats at any time during the journey.

If your plans change mid-trip, you can edit your destination through the Robotaxi app, or touch Pull Over or Support on the touchscreen whenever you need assistance.
