Set Up the Robotaxi App and Your Cybercab Preferences
The Robotaxi app is your command center for every Cybercab ride — from booking and tracking your vehicle to adjusting your seat, managing climate, opening the trunk, rerouting mid-trip, and ending the ride. Before your first trip, take a few minutes to download the app, sign in to your Tesla Account, and configure your passenger profile so your preferences are ready the moment you step in.
Download and Sign In #
1. Download the Robotaxi App #
Open the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) and search for Robotaxi by Tesla. Tap Get or Install to download the app to your device.
2. Create or Sign In to Your Tesla Account #
Open the app and tap Sign In. Enter your Tesla Account email and password.If you don’t have a Tesla Account yet, visit tesla.com to create one for free before returning to the app. A Tesla Account is required to use the Robotaxi service.
3. Allow Location and Notification Permissions #
When prompted, grant the app access to your device location so it can confirm you’re within the service area and detect your arrival at the pickup point. Enable notifications to receive real-time updates about your ride status and vehicle arrival.
4. Complete Your Passenger Profile #
Tap your profile icon and navigate to Preferences. Set your preferred cabin temperature, fan speed, and seat position. The app saves these settings to your passenger profile and automatically applies them at the start of each ride — no adjustments needed once you’re inside.
5. Choose Your Accent Light Color #
In your profile or ride settings, select your preferred accent light color. The Cybercab’s interior accent lights will display your chosen color during your ride. You can also switch the lights to Night Only mode, which auto-illuminates only in dim conditions.
Passenger Profile #
Your passenger profile stores your climate and seat position preferences between rides. When a new trip begins, Cybercab automatically applies your saved settings so the cabin is comfortable before you even buckle in. You can always override these settings mid-ride directly on the touchscreen or through the app.
You can also adjust climate and seat position from the Robotaxi app during an active ride — useful if you want to make changes before you reach your destination without touching the touchscreen.
Accessibility and Language Support #
Screen Reader Compatible #
The Robotaxi app is fully compatible with screen readers on both iOS (VoiceOver) and Android (TalkBack), so you can navigate booking, ride tracking, and preferences without visual interaction.
Multiple Languages #
The app is available in many languages, including English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, and more. Change your language preference in your device settings or within the app.
Screen reader users can complete every step of the booking flow — from entering a destination to confirming a fare — using their device’s built-in accessibility tools.
What the App Controls #
The Robotaxi app stays useful long after you’ve booked. Throughout your ride, you can use it to:
1. Before your ride
Enter your destination and confirm your fare Monitor your vehicle’s location and estimated arrival time Review your passenger profile preferences
2. During your ride
Track trip progress and estimated arrival at your destination Adjust climate settings and seat position Open or close the trunk while the vehicle is in Park Change your destination mid-ride (tap current destination → Edit → enter new destination)
3. After your ride
Complete and review your trip Report lost items via Ride History → select your ride → Start Lost Item Report Rate your experience and contact support
Minors under 13 are not permitted to ride in a Cybercab at this time. Riders must use their own Tesla Account — you cannot order a Cybercab ride on behalf of another person, as the ride requester’s phone is required for automatic door opening at pickup.
